My thoughts on Betwixt

Betwixt is a page turner with twists and turns (although some were bordering on cliche), which gave it a good forward motion. It was not particularly fraught with intrigue but there were a few good moments of suspense.

I think one of the themes of the novel would be "things aren't always as they seem" and the supernatural aspects were unique and originally plotted out. The characters weren't exceptionally developed, or if they were it was through exposition, but they were interesting and I did get a sense of caring about them or disliking them.

The book had a good set-up and parts of it were quite racy or naughty.

I think Tara Bray Smith writes vividly, engulfing the reader in the scary and exciting world she has created.
