I've just finished reading this and I have to admit I'm really disappointed!
I was looking forward to a nice, decent, juicy horror novel and ended up with a book about a character with massive (and of course obvious haha) post traumatic stress, obssessed over the past and not much of a future and not many other ideas from the author
Yes I understand the whole relevance about how the "living" vampires regard him as a mythical destructive force that kills them at will but I have to say I was left wondering what the fuss was about.
And I'm sorry but could the ending be any more convenient. I could just imagine the author typing away thinking damn, I've called the book I Am Legend, having not made any link at all so far so I best wrap it up in the last chapter or so. . .
There's reading time I'll never get back!

I wonder if the movie's much better?

Apparently the movie has a different ending.
I was at Borders over the weekend and one of the staff was talking about it. They eluded that main character wasn't killed at the end.
