I'm relatively new to this genre as I've mainly read Fantasy previously but I've found some really good authors in Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden, Elizabeth Chadwick and Robert Low, and I look forward to reading the works of Caisel Mor, Jack Whyte, Michael Curtis Ford, Scott Oden, Simon Scarrow, Steven Pressfield, Steven Saylor, Tim Severin, Valerio Massimo Manfredi and William Napier.
